This Indian whitework technique is a highly developed combination of surface stitchery and pulled work. Students will be taught the traditional stitches  of this technique and so besides learning some interesting new stitches will also encounter different approaches for familiar stitches. Students should have some experience of fine surface stitchery & pulled thread work and, as it is stitched on fine white  linen or cambric, be prepared to use some form of magnification to count threads. If students prefer, they can work the design into an article other than the sachet pictured.
