Member meetings
There are usually two formal meetings of the members, the half-yearly meeting held in March and the AGM held in September. On all other meeting days, come and stitch, change your library books and view the Guild’s current displays.

Newsletters
Our newsletter, Queensland Embroidery is published 11 times a year. It is provided to all financial members of the Guild and is a source of news, events, competitions and class information. The newsletter is the main forum for members of the Guild.

Stitching Days
Why not join a welcoming small group at one of several venues across Brisbane? Here, interested stitchers regularly meet. They can bring along their current embroidery project, share conversation, develop friendships while taking the opportunity to learn from each other.
These venues include our very own building at 149 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley. Meeting times include:
Tuesday 9.30am – 1pm
Wednesday (weeks 2 & 4) 10am – 2pm
Thursday 9am – 12pm
Saturday 1pm – 4pm
External venues are located at Ashgrove, Chermside, Springwood and Tweed Valley. Details of these addresses, meeting times and convenors are in our newsletter.

Volunteering
You are invited to help with the running of the Guild, contributing your time and expertise by:
- Taking turns with rosters at Guild events
- Making embroidered articles for sale at the Gift Shop
- Donating your surplus threads, fabrics or books for Recycled Treasures
- Taking a turn on the Management Committee or other sub committees
Our involvement allows us to feel part of the organisation, develop expertise in new areas as well as the opportunity to form new friendships easily.

Gift Shop
We have a Gift Shop selling beautifully embroidered articles made by Guild members. Purchase of these items is through an honour system and the shop raises funds for Guild expenditure. As a member we would love you to contribute by making some special articles to sell.

Recycled Treasures
You never know what you will find in this treasure trove of goods, with a great selection of used and surplus goods and books at reasonable prices. Purchase is through an honour system and donations are gratefully accepted. Treat yourself to something special!

Our Collection
Our Collection showcases diverse embroidery styles worldwide, including accessories, tools, patterns, and books, preserving Queensland’s embroidery heritage from the late 1600s to present.
