Our collection
The Guild is fortunate to own a substantial collection of needlecraft and embroidery related heirloom pieces, some dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries.
Over 3,000 items are catalogued within the collection.
Many forms of embroidery and needle-work accessories are represented within the collection. As such the collection is not only visually appealing but is also a valuable teaching resource in understanding cultural diversity and social history. Members are treated to changing displays of items in the main meeting room.
Our objects are available for loan and have featured in exhibitions hosted by other organisations including the Queensland State Library, Brisbane City Council Libraries, Museum of Brisbane and Artisan.
