Class with Anna Lang
In this workshop students will learn how to create a felt base, apply metal threads in a variety of techniques, how to apply leather, and make gum blossoms to create a Christmas Koala that sparkles and shines.
Please bring the following items to the class:
- 22 cm square of fabric (linen or a good quality cotton). Prepare by overlocking the edges.
- 16 cm or close to this size embroidery hoop – for the main embroidery piece.
- Goldwork scissors or old pair of scissors to cut the metal threads. Must have a fine point.
- Pair of sharp scissors for cutting fabric and thread
- Packet of size 3 to 9 crewel and straw needles
- 1 no 16 or 18 Chenille needle.
- 1 beading needle.
- Fine 0.5 propelling pencil

There are 4 steps at the entrance to the building and the ground floor area, as a result, wheelchair access is difficult and not recommended. Classes are usually held in the upstairs room which can only be accessed via the stairs.
Getting Here
- Free parking is available on Saturday and Sunday in Warry, Kennigo and Love Streets (behind the Guild).
- Fortitude Valley train station is a 5-minute walk away (exit via Brunswick Street).
- Numerous bus routes service Fortitude Valley. The closest stop, adjacent to the Guild building, is Brunswick Street at St Pauls Terrace, stop 5.

The Guild accepts no responsibility for difficulties with, or damage to your equipment.
Cancellation Policy
If a class is cancelled by the Guild all fees paid will be refunded. No refunds will be given for cancellations within two weeks of the class date. If more than two weeksโ notice is given, a refund will be offered, less $20 administration fee. Payment for kits will not be refunded but, if already purchased, the kit can be collected from the Guild rooms.
