Class with Gina McMonagle
ONE AND A HALF DAY CLASS:
Saturday 24 October 9.30 am – 3.00 pm and
Saturday 7 November 9.30 am – 12.30 pm
The class will explore the challenge of stitching with white thread on black linen and fitting Blackwork patterns into the small segments of the stylized fuchsia flower. Silver metallic thread and beads are added for sparkle to the design, and a smaller bud motif may be added to the back of the case.ย On the second date, assistance in completing the embroidery and constructing the case will be given.
Skill level: Beginner/Intermediate
In order to have the design tack-traced on the linen prior to the class, students will be requested to collect the kit containing the necessary items on 17 October between 1.00 and 3.30 pm. Gina can answer any queries when kits are collected.ย
Please bring the following to the class:
- 25 and 15 cm hoops, preferably with screw for tightening, and bottom ring bound with tape
